Founded in Spring 2025, the CSEE Inclusive Excellence Committee is dedicated to building and maintaining a welcoming environment for all students, staff, and faculty within the department. We are here to listen to you.
Here are some of the tasks we are currently working on (in no particular order):
- Department Colloquium: Faculty and students within the department, as well as external speakers, give biweekly talks.
- Student-Led PhD Seminar: Student-led and student-only sessions for PhD students to learn from each other.
- Finals Break Day for Students: Providing fun activities and snacks so that students can unwind before final exams.
- LEAP Alliance Member: UMBC is proud to be part of CMD-IT’s LEAP Alliance. If you are interested in becoming a LEAP Scholar (undergraduate students) or LEAP Fellow (doctoral students), please fill out this google form: https://forms.gle/5Y2YVrBd8DdXzSET7
- Introducing ourselves to organizations across UMBC.
- Representing UMBC at ACM/CMD-IT’s Tapia Conference.
