Metron Aviation provides advanced research, Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM), airspace design and energy and environmental solutions to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP), airlines and airports. Metron Aviation is a prime contractor on System Engineering 2020 (SE-2020), the FAA’s strategic program for implementing NextGen, and is performing advanced research and development work on EUROCONTROL’s Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) program.
Metron Aviation's Commercial Products and Solutions division provides commercial ATFM solutions that optimize airspace and airport capacity for customers around the world including Airservices Australia, South Africa’s ATNS, Delta Air Lines and FedEx. We are seeking a Software Engineer Intern to help support our projects during Summer 2013. Metron Aviation is a collaborative environment that fosters advanced research, concept exploration, product development and interaction with the nation’s leading aviation subject matter experts.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software according to requirements and project deadlines
- Learn new technologies and apply as appropriate to the design and development of software projects
- Communicate effectively with team members and internal clients regarding project goals/status, project support, and technology capabilities
- Develop aviation domain knowledge to further knowledge across the company and to add insight on projects
Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline
- Experience with Java a plus
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Candidate must be able to pass a background investigation and to obtain a Position of Public Trust designation
