VTIE is a collaborative effort among the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Tennessee State University, the National University of Ireland Maynooth, the Telescopes in Education Foundation, Raytheon ITSS and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The aim of the project is to cultivate interest in Astronomy among school children by providing them an opportunity to have hands-on experience in remotely using VTIE-affiliated telescopes. His job was to design and implement an interactive, incremental scheduler for the system. We also intended to incorporate Cost-based Constraint Satisfaction techniques into the scheduler to make intelligent scheduling-rescheduling decisions.
The aim of this project is to apply effective visualization to analyze relations and patterns in linked data. It takes leverage from the advantage humans have in identifying changing patterns and strength of machines in building models for and visualizing large volumes of data.
