Term Paper

Your term paper, all of its preliminary, weekly deliverables, and your presentation are to be the work of your group. The weekly deliverables consist of a list of resources, an outline, and a rough draft. You can see the syllabus for each of the deliverable's value toward your course grade.

The term paper is to be a minimum of 20 pages of text. In addition there is to be a cover page and a bibliography. Illustrations, charts, and graphs, although usually quite informative, should not be included as part of the page count. Please feel free to use them where appropriate to supplement your text.

You are to cite sources for your paper using MLA style. You have many scientific papers to look at as examples of this style and you can also obtain more information about this style online.

You must have at least 8 references. Wikipedia is not an acceptable reference.

Your paper should be free of spelling and grammatical errors.

Your term paper, although based on the topic of someone's research here at UMBC, is not to be a "book report" on that researcher's paper. Your paper is to be written on that same topic and certainly should list that researcher's paper as one of its references, but significantly more material should be used as a basis for your paper.

Your paper is to be double spaced and written in 14 point font. Margins are to be 1.5 inch at the top, 1 inch on the sides and 1/2 inch on the bottom.
