Subject: [Csee-faculty-lecturer] CSEE Research Review - awards committee


Below is a revised list of all student submissions I have received to
date.

A few issues:

 

 1. Again, we received no award submission from any undergraduate

student.  Are there any undergraduates doing CS,EE,CE research?  If
so,

encourage them to apply.  There is a $100 prize.

 

 1. I am still missing several letters of recommendation for the
    students

applying for research awards.  If you are the advisor, please email

me your detailed letter.  You may nominate only one student at each
level.

If you are not the advisor and have an opinion, I also welcome it. 
If you

don't send me a letter I will interpret that as low support for the
student.

     the letters are overdue.  COB Thursday will be the last chance.

Decisions will be made Friday.

 

 1. we need volunteers to serve on the awards committee.  Any tt
    faculty

may serve, but you cannot vote for any award for which any of your
students

are applying.  Hence, I am disqualified for the MS and PhD
selections.  The committee

will try to meet 12noon Friday.

 

 1. I still need one more faculty speaker.  Is there anyone who has
    done

interesting this year who can present?  Can you recommend/encourage
someone?
