CMPE 414/ CMPE 641: Assignment 5 This is a group assignment Group1/Group2 (CMPE 414)(Each of the groups will do the assignment individually) Characterize all the combinational cells in the standard cell library. The final version of the layouts, values to use, .sim files, .pin files, scripts and documentation will be available on my webpage and the common work directory by Monday March 7th. You will have to create the .cif files in cadence, modify them in magic, verify the .pin and the .sim files provided for each cell, understand and run the scripts to run spice simulations. You will also have to run simulations to determine the input capacitance for all the cell input pins. Scripts and documentation for this will also be provided. The output will be a tlf description per cell. You will work under you respective group directories on spock and gl machines (group1 and group2). Divide the cells equally between all the partners in a particular group. Include a file in your group directory listing the contributions of each member of the group. Group3 (CMPE 641) Characterize all the sequential cells in the standard cell library. We will provide the .pin files for the cells. This would provide the required information regarding the timing arcs and the timing checks that you need to consider. You will run simulations for all these checks and arcs, as well as for finding the input capacitance of the input pins. Modify the given scripts or write new ones to perform your simulations. The final output will be a tlf description per cell. Divide the cells equally between all the partners in a particular group. Include a file in your group directory (group3) listing the contributions of each member of the group. Updates: Group3: Scripts due on Friday (3/18) as the initial deadline Group1/2: We are still working on your scripts. You will be given a new deadline soon. Meanwhile dump out the cif descriptions of each of the cells and extract them using space. Work as a group and divide the cells among yourself. Run functional spice simulations by hand to verify that you did the extraction properly. Due Monday 03/28.
