Reminder: Exam 1 is on Thursday, October 3. These topics are considered "fair game" on the exam:- Asymptotic running time ( Big-Oh, Big-Omega, Theta )
- Definitions of Big-Oh, Big-Omega and Theta will be provided on the exam.
- Given two functions T1(n) and T2(n), you might be asked to say whether T1(n) is O(T2(n)) or vice versa.
- You might be asked to argue mathematically that T1(n) is O(T2(n)). (I.e., provide values for the constants c and n0.)
- You might be asked to look at code and estimate the running time.
- Lists
- You might be asked to write code fragments that work with a singly-linked lists.
- You might be asked to write code fragments that work with the LinkedList class from the Java Collections API.
Exam format:
- The exam might have True-False questions and multiple choice questions. These types of questions do not have partial credit.
- There could be some questions that ask you to provide a short answer of 1 or 2 sentences.
- There will be questions that ask you to write some code.
- Asymptotic running time ( Big-Oh, Big-Omega, Theta )

I will NOT be using Powerpoint slides in class most of the time. There are slides from previous semesters linked on the Course Topics page. You can look at these if you want, but the slides might not contain the material I will cover during those lectures.
