22 April 2001 Project 4 released
29 Mar 2001 Some of the student exercises and examples in the first pointer lecture were written using syntax that is valid for C, but apparently not for C++. These examples and exercises were changed and a new PPT file provided.
28 Mar 2001 The first student exercise in the first Pointers and Dynamic Allocation lecture (March 26/27 -- slide 29) had an error. The variable declaration should be
char *fischer; NOT char *fisher[3];. The slide was changed and new PPT file provided.
13 Mar 2001 Please be reminded that quizzes in discussion are based on the material presented in discussion the previous week.

08 Mar 2001 Please be reminded that neither Ms. Mitchell nor I will adjust points on your project grade based on anything you send to us in an email. Nor will simply regrade your project because you're not happy with the grade you got.
If there are specific points which you feel were deducted improperly, then you MUST speak to us in person during office hours.

25 Feb 2001 Note the following logon message from OIT regarding Linux.
"If you are logged into an OIT lab machine, and want a fast processor all to yourself, consider booting your machine into "Linux" and work locally!"
If you don't know how to do this, see the folks in ECS 020.
22 Feb 2001 - Special Project 1 Announcement The GL systems (linux and irix) will be down between (appoximately) 9:00AM and Noon on Sunday February 25th. There WILL NOT be an extension of project 1 because of this downtime.

10 Feb 2001 First notes and clarifications posted for project 1
08 Feb 2001 The example submit command on the original Project 1 description was incorrect. The project name for project 1 is Proj1 (upper-case P, not proj1 as in the original example). All project names will use an upper-case P. The project description was updated to reflect this change.
07 Feb 2001 Project 1 released today
Project 0 is ready for any student who was registered for the class as of NOON today.
If you were not registered at that time, send me (frey@cs.umbc.edu) an email when you do register and I will add you to the class. Similarly, if you have problems submitting project 0, cut and paste the exact command you tried and the exact error message you recieved and send it to me.
