My research interests are in the areas of scientific computation and
applications, including instrument modeling and calibration, passive
infrared and microwave sounding, atmospheric radiative transfer
calculations, and parallel and distributed processing. Recent work includes calibration analysis of the Cross-track Infrared Sounder (CrIS), a hyperspectral infrared sounder for the NPOESS next-generation weather satellites. This involves processing low-level instrument data, modeling self-apodization and other optical and interferometric effects, and analyzing gas cell and laser calibration test data, comparing observed and calculated data to verify the spectral calibration of the instrument. My CV includes a summary of recent publications and other work.
