The Applied Research Laboratory of the Pennsylvania State University is
seeking applicants for senior positions in the Information Systems
Department, in one or more of the following and related areas
Embeded Training and Intelligent Tutorinig
Intelligent Agents
Distributed Intelligent Control
Data Standards and Protocols for the National Information
Infrastructure
Data and Process Modeling
Interoperability Architectures
Computer Networking
Large Scale and Active Databases
Current Research in the department is focused on establishing a national
testbed for Remote Equipment Diagnostics, Distributed Intelligent Control
for Unmanned Undersea Vehicles, Defense Enterprise Integration,
Distributed Interactive Simulation for Command and Control and
manufacturing applications.
A technical background in information systems, artificial intelligence,
wide area networking, data and process modeling, discrete event control
or database design is relevant. A completed Ph.D. in Electrical
Engineering, Computer Science or related fields is desired. Also
specialized backgrounds in emerging information technologies for large
scale systems design and enterprise integration are desirable.
