UK JOBS: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND USER INTERFACES.
Logica UK Limited has opportunities for up to 8 staff with 2 or more
years experience in some combination of: intelligent agents,
knowlege-based systems and advanced user interfaces for work in software
and systems development, with a high level of client contact. Initial
opportunities are in the Defence sector but there will be opportunities
to work in other market sectors subsequently. Staff will be based in the
UK in Cobham in Surrey, central London or Cambridge but opportunities may
arise to work elsewhere in the UK or overseas.
The following are essential:
- Honours Degree in a relevant subject (Computer Science, Maths,
Physics, Electronic Engineering, Human Factors) to at least 2.2 level
- at least 2 years industrial or research experience of at least one
of: intelligent agents, knowledge-based systems (knowledge elicitation,
knowledge representation, prototyping, design, implementation) or
advanced user interfaces (analysis, design and prototyping)
- experience of C or C++ on UNIX workstations
- you need to be a UK national (for security clearance reasons) willing
to undertake defence work.
The following are desirable:
- Computer Science degree or PhD
- experience of Lisp, CORBA , Object Orientated analysis, design and
programming, Sun workstations, X-Windows, Motif
- experience of relevant off-the-shelf software tools (eg ILOG Views,
Rules, Solver)
- experience of military applications (sensor processing, command and
control, simulation)
- experience of undertaking creative research and development subject to
tight time and budgetary constraints
- experience of team leading, project management and working closely
with clients.

likely to be in the range £17k to £40k. The package will include benefits
