You are welcome to a copy of the paper we gave at the sw agents workshop.
I am rather limited in what I can do by email from here, but if you send
me a fax number, I will fax it to you. Perhpas onther on the list would
also be able to send you papers...

As for references on CORBA, you can write directly to the Object
Management Group at the following address:

492 Old Connecticut Path
Franmingham, MA 01701
(should read Framingham)
Tel: 508-820-4300
FAX: 508-820-4303

HP's distributed Smalltalk package does not direclty support agents, but
as an implementation of CORBA provides a good distributed object
foundation for them. We have been building our own system KAoS on
top of it, but are now in the process of extending it to otehr platforms
as well. HP had their own agent framework (called NewWave) that was
more or less the equivalent of what AppleScript does on Apple platforms. They
have now discontinued it.

There are about a dozen different vendors who have implementations of
CORBA, including DEC, Sun (DOE), IBM (SOM), etc.

We are developing KAoS, our own system, within the framework of an
international cooperative study called Hippocrene to agree on agent
standards for the aerospace industry. Once legal hurdles are cleared,
we hope to distribute it freely to interested parties and submit it to
a larger standars process...

If you contact me again in about a month, I will send you a copy of a state-
of the art survey on sw agent technology I am doing for NASA...

Cheers,
JEff Bradshaw
