DIRECTIONS TO UMBC FROM I-95 UMBC is located just outside the the southern edge of Baltimore. More specifically, it is just to the west of I95 and to the south of the beltway around Baltimore (695). FROM THE SOUTH (e.g. from Washington). If you are driving north on I-95 (e.g., from Washington) take the BWI/Catonsville exit (47 A/B). (You've missed it and gone too far if you get to the beltway (695)). This exit (47 A/B) forks into a road going to BWI and a road going to Catonsville. Take the fork going to Catonsville and then take the exit marked UMBC (47B). FROM THE NORTH (e.g., from Philadelphia). Stay on I-95 through Baltimore, through the tunnel, and out past the beltway (695). Take the first exit to the south of the beltway, 47A/B, which is also labeled "BWI/Catonsville". Take the fork for 47B, also labeled Catonsville/195 West. This brings you to I-195 W. Within 1/4 mile there is an exit off 195 labeled UMBC. Follow this another 1/4 mile until you come to a stop sign at "loop road" which circles the campus. FROM THE WEST (e.g. from Frederick). Proceed east to end of Interstate 70. Then follow I695 south and take Exit~12C (Wilkens Ave. West). Proceed 1/2 mile west on Wilkens Ave. and take UMBC entrance on left. Turn right onto Loop Road. ON CAMPUS. The Computer Science Department is located on the second floor of the "Engineering and Computer Science" (ECS) building. The department headquarters is in room 210 with phone number 410-455-3000. PARKING. Parking is very tight at UMBC. If you do not have a parking permit, you must park in one of the visitors lots. The easiest and most convenient one can be reached by turning right onto Loop Road and then taking your first left. Follow this road until you come to a parking lot/garage (lot 10). The upper level has metered spots for visitors. The ECS building is a five minute walk from here -- ask someone for directions or consult a map. If you do have a permit, take a left turn to get on to the loop road which goes around the school. Keep driving on the loop road till you get to the traffic lights. Turn right here and the building in the front a little to the right is the Engineering/Computer Science Building (ECS). You can park in the parking lots on the left or right of this road. The entrance to the ECS building here directly opens into the second floor.
