Welcome Message
Welcome to the new Web site for the UMBC Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Department and finds us in a strong and healthy condition. Three new tenure-track faculty joined our Department: Tinoosh Mohsenin, Chintan Patel and Gymama Slaughter. Our enrollments are up with 886 undergraduate majors and 249 graduate students. In January 2011 we are initiating two new graduate programs in the important area of Cybersecurity. Finally, our research funding continues to grow with funds projects supported by both government and industrial partners. The 2010 research expenditures were at an all time high of over $6M.
