Accelerated BS/MS Program

Computer engineering majors considering a master of science degree may apply for admission to the combined B.S./M.S. program. According to UMBC Graduate School policy, students in the combined program must maintain a total GPA of 3.0 or higher. By the time a student has earned nine graduate credits, he or she must have completed the regular application process for formal admittance to the M.S. program.

  • Phase I Application Steps: CMPE Students who have completed CMPE 212, 306, 310 and 314 along with CMSC, MATH and PHYS courses (listed in the department application forms below) are eligible to apply for the accelerated BS/MS program for a MS degree in either Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Students should fill out the following forms to apply for the joint program:

  • Enrolling for Graduate Courses: Before enrolling for graduate courses BS students should fill out the following form to properly apply upto 9 graduate credits towards their undergraudate degree

  • Phase II Application Steps: According to Graduate School policy, students admitted in the department's combined program (Phase I) should also apply and be admitted to the Graduate school (Phase II) one semester prior to the completion of undergraduate degree requirements.
